What is IVF?

IVF is the fertilization of egg cells produced in the female body in a laboratory environment with male sperm and the placement of developing embryos or embryos in the uterus after they are matured with drugs.

Who is IN VIII Applied?

IVF is a treatment method applied to women, men or couples who sometimes cannot have children due to both reasons. We can list the conditions in which IVF treatment will be performed as follows;

  • If there is a blockage in the tubes in the uterine film or if both tubes have been surgically removed
  • In case of azospermia (no sperm in the semen) or oligospermia (low sperm count) in the male
  • Women with reduced ovarian reserves
  • If you have an endometrioma (chocolate cyst)
  • Ivf treatment can be applied to maintain reproductive functions before chemotherapy/radiotherapy in cancer patients.

SSI Contracted IVF Treatment

The SSI covers ivf treatment costs of up to three trials of insured people who are married but do not have children in their current marriage, regardless of whether they have children from previous marriages. The fact that couples have adopted together does not prevent IVF treatment from being met.

If the following conditions are met, IVF treatment costs are covered by SSI:

  • The center where the application is made is contracted / protocold with the institution
  • Health board report that after medical treatments, you cannot have children with normal medical methods and can only have children by assisted reproductive method
  • Woman over 23, under 40
  • One of the spouses has been insured or dependent for at least five years and has 900 days of general health insurance premium days
  • Documenting that other treatment methods have not been achieved in the last three years, except for women with early ovarian failure ( primary ovarian failure), also called early menopause, and men (azospermia) who cannot find sperm.

If the woman who started IVF treatment is over 40 years of age at the time of embryo transfer, the treatment costs are not covered. However, if the valid health report issued on the date the woman is under 40 years of age is found and embryo transfer is carried out within 30 days from the date of the report, the health services related to IVF treatment are covered by the SSI.

IVF is not just the work of a doctor or an embryologist. It’s a team effort. The main task belongs to the couple. We, as doctor embryologists, nurses, staff, patient consultants, support couples with our entire team, scientific knowledge, skills and human aspects, and together we are on the way to a solution as a strong experienced team.
